I am so excited to share my thoughts on health and wellness and my own journey of getting better both physically and mentally.

This site will not lead to you losing tons of weight or getting well overnight.

However, it is meant to give wellness information without judgment.

It really bothers me when people say, “all you have to do is this…” to be healthy or to lose weight.

I really do not care if they are fitness coaches, dietitians/nutritionists, work in healthcare, or an array of other professions geared towards your health.

There is not one set of rules that applies to everyone in their health journey.

For myself, I had tried everything. I mean everything!

What worked for me was true balance in every portion of my life. I am still on this journey, but the changes I have made are working for me.

First, I changed my eating habits. Working a very demanding job can really trigger bad eating habits, and this led to me having high blood pressure, and eventually, I was diagnosed as a Type II diabetic.

I decided to change my eating and watch my salt and sugar intake, along with increasing my water.

It worked for a while, but still, I was stressed out.

Secondly, was reducing stress. Eventually, I had to plan accordingly to leave my job, because otherwise, I was going to work myself to death!

I also had to learn to say no.

This can be very difficult, especially with close friends and family, but your health is just as much as a priority.

People will understand that you just cannot do everything, and furthermore should not feel obligated to do everything.

The third thing I did was get enough rest.

Seems simple enough, but not really.

While I had reduced my stress, I still had a home to maintain, and that meant being a good wife and mother.

So, I made this portion of my life easier and asked my household members for help.

I am one that used to believe that something is not done correctly unless I do it. Yeah, let that go!

So, these are items that worked for me and have led to gradual weight loss over the past two years.

Notice that I did not include exercise.

That is because exercise for me was just natural. I count movement in everything from cleaning to grocery shopping, to interactive video game playing.

I also believed that my prior exercise routine was creating a mental clutch for days I was just too tired to engage.

This would lead to me giving up on eating better.

It was important not to create a correlation of eating badly, just because I could not workout.

Please share with me below your own journey and some tips that may help others on their journey to being healthier!
